TRAINING VENUES
GSSC is a regional swimming club with strong connections across the Fleurieu and Great Southern area.
Our primary year-round training base is the Fleurieu Aquatic Centre, with Strathalbyn Swimming Pool continuing to play an important role in the Club’s seasonal program, activities and history.
FLEURIEU AQUATIC CENTRE
25m indoor short-course pool - our year-round home
The Fleurieu Aquatic Centre provides GSSC with the year-round pool access needed to deliver regular training across different stages of swimmer development.
Most GSSC training takes place at FAC, along with selected Club activities and events.
Swimmers are responsible for having appropriate facility access when attending training. Pool entry or facility membership is separate from GSSC membership and Club training fees.
TWO VENUES. ONE CLUB.
STRATHALBYN SWIMMING POOL
50m outdoor long-course pool - where our story began
GSSC traces its history to the Strathalbyn Swimming Club, established in 1935, and the Strathalbyn pool remains an important part of the Club’s regional identity.
The pool may be used for seasonal training, Club activities and competition opportunities, particularly during the outdoor swimming season.
Training and entry arrangements for Strathalbyn are communicated to members when relevant.
Our use of both facilities helps GSSC maintain its connection across the region while providing swimmers with access to year-round club swimming. Training across both environments gives swimmers experience adapting their pacing, turns and race skills.
